01.    Bio

Linda Linko is a Helsinki-based visual artist who works in a range of media, with a particular focus on drawing and painting.

Graduated from the University of Art and Design in 2004, her visual thinking is strongly shaped by a background in design. Her work is influenced by contemporary painting as well as typographic studies and the bold visual language of 1960s Polish poster.

Her work often draws on themes from art history, portrait, landscape, and still life, reinterpreting them through her own way of thinking and a clear, recognisable visual style.

“I am fascinated by the dynamics of seeing, observing, and understanding. Through art, it becomes easier to explore inexplicable structures and semiotic associations—distortions and irregularities that have always intrigued me.”
