01.    Bio

Linda Linko is a Helsinki-based visual artist working across painting and drawing, moving freely between figuration and abstraction.

Graduating from the University of Art and Design Helsinki in 2004, Linko’s visual thinking is shaped by her background in design and a design philosophy that continues to inform her approach to art. At the same time, she has developed a distinct and personal way of seeing and constructing images. Her work is influenced by the bold visual language of 1960s Polish poster art, contemporary painting and art history.

Her paintings draw on familiar subjects such as faces, landscapes and still life, reinterpreting them through an intuitive and personal visual language. She is interested in how an image can shift, distort and remain open to interpretation, balancing immediacy and playfulness with colour, rhythm and visual tension.

Linko is also known for her poster design, particularly her work for music and club culture.
